silberzeilen.de edits and proofreads English texts for businesses and academics in Germany. We ensure that your English
Prices are based on each individual text but, as a guide, the closer to perfect your English is the cheaper the check is.
Proofreading is the final stage in a document's pre-public life. It is concerned with checking a text against defined publishing standards. An example of a publishing standard is New Hart's Rules. Proofreading is about fine typographic detail. It is not about correcting language: that is 'editing'.
Editing at its most fundamental level is about correcting errors. However, editing is also about making a text stylistically appropriate for its readers. For instance, a PhD does not use the same style as a marketing campaign or business case.
If you are not a native English speaker your text will probably need some editing.
